Colombia exports pitahaya to Chile

After the approval of the health authority in Chile, everything is prepared for Colombia to start exporting pitahaya to the southern country.

The approval that was granted enables the packing plant and the treatment chamber of hot steam from the Association of Producers and Marketers of Pitahaya (Asopitaya).

"It becomes a positive indicator of coordinated efforts among the public and private sector to seize trade opportunities in international markets for the benefit of small producers, because by increasing exports and diversify foreign markets, we may consolidate a promising export-oriented activity," said Maria Cristina Torres Villamil, deputy of Sanitary and Phitosanitary Regulation of the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA).
