4th International Ecuadorian Mango Conference
This event, taking place every two years, has become the meeting point for worldwide mango producers, especially considering the large number of growers and traders from different countries attending it.
According to Bernardo Malo, President of the Mango Ecuador Foundation, this is also evidenced by the huge interest shown by the various sponsoring firms, of which around 40 are supporting the Congress.
This International Congress will once again be visited by fourteen of the most renowned experts in the fields of harvesting, pests, irrigation, cold chain, etc.., who will be sharing their expertise and points of view with a large group of participants, expected to exceed 450 people.
Some of the foreign speakers include: Geraldina Umaña (Costa Rica), Yair Aron (Israel), Richard Campbell (USA), Edgar Rodríguez (Peru), Aldo Malavasi (Brazil), José Luis González (Mexico), José Luis Pieroni (Uruguay).
The congress, which has become a great meeting point for this fruit's producers, exporters and importers, has also the support of several trading firms, such as: Amazon Produce, Coast Tropical, Panorama Produce, Freska Produce, Splendid Products, Vision Import Group, CH Robinson, J&C Tropicals, Central American Produce, Dayka & Hacket, Alpine Fresh, World's Best Tropicals, David Oppenheimer, among others. Among the companies acting as service providers we find firms such as: APL Limited, Dole Ocean Cargo, Copa Airlines, Great White Fleet, NYK Lines, Trust Control International, LCL Ecuador, Grupo Cartopel, Grupasa, etc.
The National Mango Board, the body in charge of promoting this fruit's consumption in the US market, will be represented at the event by its Executive Director, William Watson and its Research and Industry Relations Directors, Leonardo Ortega and Marilda Peele.
In the opinion of Bernardo Malo, these events are essential for the various producing countries to maintain close ties between them, as well as with importing firms, contributing to the strengthening of the industry.
