Nordfrost seaport terminal taken into use early
On the 11th of November 2011 work started on the Nordfrost seaport terminal, part of the deep water container port JadeWeserPort in German Wilhelmshaven. If one doesn't count the three weeks of winter break, the project has been taken into use after a building period of exactly 8 months..
On the 8th of June 2012 the seaport terminal with, among other things, cooling and freezing installations was completed and ready to use. The imposing, around 23,000 square metre building was ready to use in record time. On the 31st of July 2012 the official initiation of the control post was celebrated and now Nordfrost is going to use the Nordfrost sea port terminal before the planned opening of the JadeWeserPort. Around 1,500 pallets full of fresh wares for the German market are now being stored at a constant temperature of +1 ÂșC in the cooling chambers. After this the first fruit containers will arrive in the second half of August.
