‘Ultra-clean Salanova’

Growing more and higher-quality produce in a smaller space – that is the major benefit of the Plant Factory. And a special ‘home use’ variety even allows consumers to grow their own Salanova, for instance.

“A Plant Factory works with a closed system,” explains Emeline Tsai from producer Risecare. “Water, light, temperature and such like are all precisely controlled, and there is no need to use pesticides. This results in very high quality products which are grown sustainably, ultra-hygienically and above all safely. Our Plant Factory performs best when we use high-quality varieties, and when it comes to quality, Salanova definitely fits the bill!”

Home use
Innovation is an ongoing process at the plant factory. The Risecare R&D team is constantly working on developing systems to further reduce energy consumption and hence costs, for example. The company also developed a Plant Factory for home use. Tsai: “This allows consumers to grow their own Salanova, which gives them a new and unique sense of control over the product. Needless to say, growing your own vegetables can also be a lot of fun and it is a great activity to do with others, especially for families, schools or companies.”
