Fresh partners opens Indian subsidiary

New Zealand based company Fresh Partners (Pacific) Limited has established a subsidiary company in India to market Apples, Kiwifruit, Stone fruit, Grapes, Pears, Citrus and plant material for varieties of pip fruit and gold kiwifruit. "As the world’s largest producer and consumer of fruit and vegetables," said Director Martin Cowie "India affords several opportunities in the horticulture sector with its stable democracy and commercial environment. We are also confident in working with local growers and exporters to establish markets for Indian produce in the Far East Asian region."

Gourmet Traders Pvt Ltd has been in operation for several months. Under stewardship of Director Arjun Agarwal, it is delivering successful growth plans this year. GTPL has the necessary infrastructure for imports and is well positioned to cater to the local markets in the Eastern and North Eastern region of India. GTPL’s customers are primarily in the wholesale trade with a fraction of sales directly to a retail chain.

Based out of CBD in Kolkata, GTPL has built a modest Cool store facility that supplies quality fruits during off season of local production. Retail chains and specialist stores have expressed interest in sourcing reliable and consistent basket of fresh produce. To serve this requirement, GTPL is focused on working with suppliers, through its parent FPPL, to maximize availability of quality produce all year round.

Fresh Partners is also working closely with an Australian partner to serve their client base with Australian produce. Kiwi fruit, Citrus and Carrot exports are being offered to customers in Asia, Middle East and Europe.
