Hans Elenbaas, NL, has been active in the sale of sea vegetables since 1996. In the meantime Elenbaas Sea Vegetables have been supplying to a number of restaurants, fishmongers, vegetable suppliers and supermarkets all over Europe. The season for 'farmed' samphire in domestic plots has almost ended and sea vegetables are then supplied from France. In the following months after that from Isreal, where the samphire is farmed in greenhouses on land with desert water supplemented with salt. Finally, supplied they are from Mexico where water from the Pacific is used.

The moderate summer weather from the last few weeks has, according to Hans Elenbaas, had a positive affect. "Our circle of clients has expanded and the existing clients have, in general, been buying more product than last year. The lower temperatures have meant that people choose cooked vegetables. The sale of sea lavender has also been going well the last few weeks. We are very satisfied with the current season and have expanded our selection with sea blite and sea purslane."
