Fresh Prepack is the central sorting and packing centre of about 15 pepper growers, who are part of growers association FrEsteem. With amongst others the immense Greefa-sorting line, which can process 18,000 kg of peppers per hour, the sorting and packing process in the shed is an impressive scene. At the moment a daily quantity of in total 50 HA of peppers is processed by the company, which is established at the commercial centre ABC Westland. "We still have capacity for a further 20 HA of peppers" Wim Dingemans says. "In case there are growers who want to be rid of the worries of sorting then they are very welcome with us!"
Quality is always in the first place with Fresh Prepack. "Both quality of the product and of the installation are of paramount importance with us" Wim, who is a pepper grower himself, says. "Our philosophy is: quality is sorted by quality." Therefore we have chosen to realise an optimum sorting process, which is accurate to a gram and of a constant level."
“As we together with our clients and growers want to provide for their needs a reliable machine is a must" Wim tells when we walk through the impressive sorting hall. "We are in a position to change quickly between colours, sorting, packings and parcels. The sorting process is reliable and streamlined and we can satisfy a long range of client specific requirements. A grower does not need to be worried about his own sorting, boxes, stickers and sendings. We collect the product daily in bulk containers and make sure that he has sufficient empty ones on hand. In that way he can keep his attention at his own organisation."
"Also in case of possible quality problems he can fully attend to the cultivation" Wim adds. "In this way he can cultivation technical anticipate immediately. He does not have to be involved in the extra sorting activities. We take care of that. The problem can then be solved quickly without this going at the expense of the quality. That is finally the surplus value for the client."
