First for importer W.Jonckheere

Hallmark Charentais melon by laser labelling

Imorter W.Jonckheere from Brussels has a first in Europe when selling their melons. "The melon mark has been printed by means of a laser" Stefan Adriani and Cedric Geens tell enthusiastically. "In this way the brand mark is not made known by means of a sticker, but by laser labelling. Our clients react very positively."

"In the future brand name only by means of laser"
The melons of the variety Charantais come from the south of France. "On 16 July we received the first sendings and the products treated by laser look good. In the fruit and vegetable sector it is of great importance for a company to be different by means of innovation and not to leave room for a lesser tendency. This is really something new."

The importer tells that in addition to the laser label a sticker is also added to the product. "This because the client still needs to get accustomed to it, in time the trade name will only be shown by means of laser. With us the laser is used with gamma Philidon, the most selective choice in Charentais. The melon variety comes from supplier 'Boyer' in France, the largest supplier of Charentais melons. With this exporter we closely work together. Boyer have their own production in France, Morocco, Spain, Guadeloupe, Senegal and Martinique."

To get the 'tattooed' fruit on the market has taken W.Jonckheere quite some time. "It is important to invest well, such as in the area of staff and training in France. Also one has to be sure that this way of promotion is safe and the product is not damaged. One can only invest in something like this when sufficient volumes are being dealt with."

Jonckheere offer a wide variety of fruit and vegetables on the import market in Brussels and mainly supply small - and wholesalers.
