The Spanish citrus has disappeared from the market and has made room for South African citrus. "We have had oranges of the brand Cebon in our assortment for about three weeks already" Erick Dierick of importer Beltran tells. "We now notice that the really large volumes are starting to arrive."

"It was difficult for a start in the area of sizes, but the citrus is now of a good format. Prices are good at the moment" the trader says. "The demand is normal, but that is quite stable all year round. A little comparable to bananas, there is always demand for citrus. We have been marketing our citrus under brand name Cebon for about three years and we notice that clients appreciate this. With this we offer a distinct product. For us Cebon-citrus we have, just as for the Cebel brand, which is also part of our group and traded by Centralfruit, selected our own growers. They satisfy the quality requirements we demand for our brands. Within a few weeks we will also receive minneola's and lemons of the brand.
Eric mentions that in the future the South African Cebon citrus will also be sold in Spain. We have contacts with distributors there and we are now testing the market to see whether there is a market for them."
Beltran is part of Group A. de Witte and is established in the import centre in Brussels. Important products at the moment are grapes from Italy as well. In addition we offer the entire fruit assortment from South Africa.
