Very good stone fruit season in Spain

Russia requests big amounts of stone fruit from Spain

Anthony Dominguez, of the Spanish company DSB, said that the campaign of stone fruit is doing very well. During the early fruit season (since late April to mid June) there was no show of any export problem for stone fruit. During the early season of stone fruit DSB achieved more than 4,000 tons in export to European countries.

DSB Stone Fruit cleared for export

In particular, Dominguez said that this season the lack of nectarine in the market was present due to a high demand compared to the offer on the market. By contrast, Anthony states that in the market there is an excess of apricot that in certain way could sustain the low prices of this product on the international market.
Dominguez also claims that for peaches and nectarines, it has been a better campaign compared to last year. As for markets, he also highlights Russia as a country that has claimed stone fruit during this season. DSB expects for this stone fruit season to be better than last in terms of export volumes and price.

DSB is a Spanish exporter of various fruits such as yellow melon, green melon, grapes and stone fruits. Their main suppliers are certified producers with Global Gap, and thus ensure excellent fruit quality for export. In addition to exporting fresh fruits, the company is also engaged in the export of olive oil.

The main export destinations of DSB´s fruit are Italy, France, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, Switzerland and to a lesser extent to England and Holland. In the case of France and Italy, Anthony Dominguez said that although they are producing countries, Spain provides early fruit from Murcia while these markets don´t have their own production available.
