Europe: CityCube Berlin: Foundation has been laid for a new exhibition-and conference building

The foundation has been laid for the 'CityCube Berlin'. The building work for the new exhibition-, conference- and events building in the German capital have already underway.

The multifunctional hall on the terrain of the 'Berlin ExpoCenter City' will house its first meetings and events in around 18 months. "Berlin has developed into one of the most important cities for exhibitions. It has become a central economic factor for Berlin," says Michael Müller, the minister of Urban Development and Environment in Berlin. "Building of the CityCube is not only an investment for the exhibition grounds, but for all of Berlin." The new exhibition hall will stand where the former 'Deutschlandhalle' was located. The new hall will hold future conferences and events with a maximum of 10,000 visitors.
