Spain: Strawberry claims against Sigpac

The Official Gazette of the Andalusian Board (BOJA) collected from Wednesday, June 27th, the resolution which extends the period for submission of claims to the Geographic Information System of Agricultural Plot Identification (Sigpac) to holders of premises for the cultivation of strawberries and red berries. This period will remain in force until July 16th.

Thus, those who wish to modify the information gathered in the Geographic Information System (Sigpac) of their enclosures, shall submit an amendment application, preferably in the Registration of Agricultural Regional Offices (OCAS) where the largest number of enclosures affected by the change are located, and if it can prove the ownership of these areas.

The Sigpac

The creation of the Geographic Information System of Agricultural Plot Identification is the result of the collaboration between the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA) and the different regions, forming part of the Integrated Administration and Control System of direct support schemes.

This public register provides an update of the plots in Andalusia. Specifically, the Sigpac offers graphic support from different plots and harvesting agricultural enclosures defined in which they are subdivided.

The information in this system is shown through the "viewfinder Sigpac'', available on the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment Web.
