Peruvian hass avocado exporters are very positive with shipments to the U.S. market, which will receive the fruit until August. Due to a slump in the price of avocados in the European continent in the month of May, exporters have reservations towards Europe. While on the other hand they are very positive about shipments going to the U.S. market. One of the main reasons why prices were very low in Europe was the high supply of avocados not only from Peru, but from Latin America in the European market.
Although the price rose in Europe compared to those presented in May, Peruvian exporters today focus more on sending their fruit to the U.S., hoping the U.S. market remains much more stable.
