market news week 24

Many varieties of cherries on German market, little demand

The supply of cherries on the wholesale markets in Germany was extensive in week 24. There were volumes from Italy and Turkey. Also the Spanish variety California was present in quantity. Demand despite the many-sided supply was insufficient. Prices decreased because the quality was not always optimum. Prices of the local supply remained high. The variety Giorgia was about 5.50 Euro/kg. Imports from Romania and Bulgaria were good and also obtained good prices.
