Belgium: Belbana is granted AEO status

Following a careful audit conducted by Customs Authorities during the few last months, finally Belbana obtained the status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO).
Belbana is the first Belgian Independent Banana Importer to obtain the AEO certification. Obtaining this certification, confirms that Belbana meets the required criteria: customs compliance, appropriate record-keeping, financial solvency and where relevant, security and safety standards.

Belbana, based in Blankenberge, will now be able to benefit from easier access to custom simplifications procedures provided for in the customs rules in the other Member States, and will be in a more favorable position to comply with the new security requirements. The certification of Belbana is valid for all imports from Central and South American, bananas, pineapples, melons, watermelons and other tropical fruits.
