Peru: Quite a good season for avocado until now

Avocado season in Peru started at the beginning of February. The main varieties for export produced in Peru are Hass and Fuerte. Until now, the fruit is showing quite good quality and amounts are "much higher than in the last season. We are talking about some 30% more", said a producer.

On the other hand, the weather has been favorable for the avocado production, that affected the good season results. According to the producer, starting on 15 of July, it's expected that production volumes will start to lower and less fruit will be available and it's expected that prices will go up.
