US: Mercer Uni joins GWA for weekend blitz at Macon retail chains
As families prepare for the 4th of July Holiday celebration, several young women from each organization will be available in the produce departments to talk to consumers about the nutritional and economical value of eating watermelon. Additionally they will educate consumers on how to pick out a good watermelon. These young ambassadors will be representing GWA at Ingles, Harvey’s, Food Lion, Dollar General Market and Robins Air Force Base.
According to Jamey Adams, President of the Georgia Watermelon Association, "This will be a great opportunity for consumers to learn about the healthy benefits of eating locally grown Georgia watermelons. We appreciate these retailers helping us educate customers on the nutritional benefits of eating watermelons."
