During the first quarter of 2012, fresh mango exports from the Lambayeque region reached approximately USD 1.9 million, thus reducing their FOB value by 52.94% compared to the USD 4.1 million in revenues made during the same period of 2011.
This was announced by the Research and Information Unit of AREX Lambayeque, institution which also reported that mango export volumes during the first three months of 2012 decreased 71.5%. This means that an average of 175 thousand tons were sent. In addition, the average price for fresh mangoes were USD 1.7 per
kilogram.
It should be noted that the main destinations of fresh mango shipments is Holland, who occupied 31% of the Total FOB value exported by the Lambayeque region, the United States 21%, Japan 14%, France 11%, the UK 9% and other countries with a total of 14%.
