Chile produces fruit in Mexico for the US market

Chilean companies are developing, in Mexico, grape, cherry and blackberry production projects to sell to the United States, reported Milenio.

According to the interview with Leonardo Banda Maldonado, director of Prochile in the country, until now an investment superior to 1.300 million Dollars was made by six companies, but Banda Maldonado clarifies that this can be higher, as there's no registry in the embassy or in the Mexican government about it.

Previous to his participation in Expo Alimentaria 2012, this is going on in Gualajara, Jalisco, Hermosillo and Sonora and there's the chance of more companies being added to the process.
