Argentina and Brazil advanced in citrus export

Fecorr carried out an Argentinian trade mission to Sao Paulo, Brazil, which gathered hundreds of businessmen from both countries and where advances were implemented regarding citrus export.

Representing LA FECORR CORRENTINA, was Fernando Mendez who made contact with the Argentinian consuls in the cities of Sao Paulo, Florianopolis, Foz do IguaƧu and Curitiba.

Brazil has put phytosanitary measures in place, imposed by ANVISA.

The Argentinian delegation requested equal treatment, equivalent to that given to products from Brazil in Argentina.

We hope that "of the 30,000 million dollars that Brazil imports from outside the region, at least 6,000 million in the short term can be supplied from Argentina."

The mission was led by Interior Commerce Secretary, Guillermo Moreno, accompanied by secretaries of Foreign Trade, Beatriz Paglieri, and International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cecilia Nahon, and the Secretaries of Commerce, Carlos Bianco, and Latin American Economic Integration and Mercosur, Agustina Vila.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Industrial Federation of Sao Paulo State (FIESP) where there were more than 600 Argentinian businessmen, and leaders of industry organizations. FIESP's holder, Paulo Skaf, said we have to "increase trade flows and find a better balance." According to Sao Paulo's businessman, "there is a mutual commitment, mutual effort, to increase trade and of the elimination of problems here and there." "I have no doubt that the climate in Argentina, with initiatives like this one, will improve," confided the employer.
