Raspberry grower blows them away at awards

Raspberry grower Richard Clarke has been named Young Tasmanian Fruit Grower of the year at the annual awards.

Richard Clarke has been the force behind the Westerway Raspberry farm since he started there as a teenager and has led the expansion of the business which now supplies berries to Dock Smith for his jams.

Richard Clarke says there is plenty of innovation in the berry industry and there is room for more expansion of the Westerway farm.

He says the company plans to concentrate on the Australian market rather than expand to the export market at this stage.
