Spain stone fruit and citrus outlook week 19

Stone fruit

Huleva

Only yellow flesh nectarines and peaches will be on the market until week 24-25. Varieties being picked are nectarine Zincal 17 and peach Plagold 10. The harvest of the nectarines is expected to end week 23 and for peaches week 25.

Polytunnel stock is now residual.



Seville and Cordoba
Considerable volumes will be available from this week onwards, mostly of yellow flesh varieties. Varieties being picked are:

White flesh peaches Plawhite 5-10
Yellow flesh peaches, Candor, Sherman
Yellow flesh nectarines, Crimson Baby, N2-92



Murcia and Extramdura
There is confirmation that the first nectarines from Murcia will be ready this week, with the N2-92 yellow flesh variety.

Apricots are also ready this week.

The season in Extramdura is expected to start in week 21 with yellow nectarine variety, Big Ban. Peaches are expected to be ready from week 22 with the Spring Lady variety.



LĂ©rida and Huesca

Picking is expected to start week 23-24, with yellow nectarine Early Top and yellow peach Early Rich.

Citrus

Valencia and Adalucia
First purchases of orange Navel Naveline have been taking place this week, though the stock is not yet ready. investors are making their purchase early as there are concerns there may be shortages.

Murcia
Verna lemon is currently being picked in Murcia and Alicante.
