Five Belgian fresh specialists under one name

In Belgium, starting on the 1st of May five fresh specialists, three meat and two fruit and vegetable suppliers, will start supplying their products under one name: Delidis. It concerns the companies Peeters-Govers Horeca Service, Vleba Vleeswaren, De Belie wild&gevogelte, and Kepisch Vleesbedrijf. "The volumes of fruit and veg and meat are now balanced equally and due to this collaboration we've become one large player on the fresh market", says Wim Peeters enthusiastically.

Peeters-Grovers began focussing more on catering in the 80's. To widen their supply they started the meat company Vleba a few years after that. De Belie also came under their wing in the years after that. Later Kempisch Vleesbedrijf and Mariëns Fruit were taken over. "We worked as separate companies for a short while, but this year we made the decision to come under one name. We can't supply our customers as Peeters-Govers if we also supply products of other companies", explains Wim.

The new Delidis' customer base is versatile and they supply to catering businesses, kitchens, schools, companies, institutions, fruit traders and wholesalers. "Since we've extended like this, we also supply to retailers and new customers have joined us.", says Wim. "We've got lots of expectations for this year. These companies fit together perfectly and with this new string group Delidis we can supply a larger market and meet our customers needs with a versatile supply."

"we've worked hard these past few months to get Delidis ready to start. Besides the organisational challenge bringing five companies together poses, we've thought about an identity for the new fresh group. We've been looking for a striking identity, that reflects our activities as well as possible. In the first place there's the name Delidis that reflects our core business: selecting, treating, and dividing fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat of top quality. For the Delidis logo we've gone for the colour and font of the main company Peeter-Govers, supplemented by two fresh leaves, which replace the dots on the 'i'."
