New Leaf Food Safety now SmartWash Solutions
To mark the occasion, the company is debuting its Automated SmartWash Analytic Platform (ASAP) unit at this year's United Fresh Convention in Dallas, May 1-3. ASAP combines the line-proven technology of the SmartWash Analytical System with the game-changing Chlorine Monitoring System in one automated platform. The SAS injects a scientifically calculated, precise allocation of SmartWash and chlorine into a single or multi-stage wash system. It connects independently to the wash line, or can be integrated into the water supply enabling constant pH and optimal levels of free chlorine. Analytical probes on the CLM deliver critical measurements of free chlorine and temperature data to the SAS control unit that is equipped with an intuitive touch-screen interface ensuring quality system performance. ASAP provides turnkey process control, cost savings, automation and improved quality control with the breakthrough benefits of SW.
ASAP is the only technology in the industry that monitors and controls pH, free chlorine and temperature while injecting a precise amount of SW into the wash line while eliminating cross contamination. "That's the key," Mason says, "By combining all three steps, the process is streamlined into one efficient system assuring that cross contamination of pathogens does not occur. Ultimately that's what we want for our consumers, reassurance that the food we are producing is safe. And that's exactly what ASAP and SW does."
SW is comprised of 100% GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) ingredients. The pathogen-fighting solution, when applied to standard, chlorine-based wash systems, enhances and optimizes the effectiveness of the wash process. Since its debut in 2009, SW has been used to wash more than a billion pounds of produce, eliminating cross contamination and potential outbreaks.
