NL: Tizjara have even more exotic vegetables on offer

Last year the company Tizjara started to offer exotic vegetables. "Immediately the year started well and we have grown to be one of the largest producers of speciality Habanero pepper. In 2012 we realised an increase in area and now have glasshouse capacity of 14 HA, in which we grow our products" Hamid Haddouch says.

"Our company Tizjara grows and exports tropical vegetables and fruit from Morocco and addresses the ethnical market in Europe. The most important supply channels for Tizjara are the wholesale markets. 'In Europe our clients are mainly in the Netherlands, France, Belgium and Germany, but we also have customers in Italy and Spain. They also mention that there is demand starting in other European countries. "Especially from England, Scandinavia and Switzerland we notice a growing interest."

"Thanks to our own cultivation we guarantee to supply quality, high value products. Because we have increased the number of products we can offer even more this year" the trader continues. "Our assortment varies from Habanero pepper to vegetables such as Bitter melon, Antroewa and Boelanger. The number of vegetables could be increased because the hothouse area has doubled. We now also offer Okers, Sim, Kouseband and Garden eggs. Simultaneously we also experiment with various leafy vegetables. Our pepper assortment we have increased with Freshno, Lombok, Rawit and Madame Jeanette."

Food safety and freshness are two important pillars for Tizjara. "In order to guarantee quality and freshness of the products we employ a Dutch agriculturist, who knows exactly what is required in the area of quality, but especially in the area of food safety. At the moment a lot of exotic vegetables are being rejected because residues are found. We work according to GlobalGAP directives and strictly follow European rules. As a result our clients and the final consumer are guaranteed of a safe and healthy product."

Tizjara produce and supply the products under the name Magnifica. "Special to this name is the emphasis on taste. Also quality and freshness are in a central position. The products under the name Magnifica are carefully selected and are from the field immediately packed in a cold area, guaranteeing to the client fresh vegetables rich in vitamins." The entrepreneurs say that they are also different with prices. Putting all this together their motto is: "To supply reliable products at a guaranteed low price with a service without problems under the name Magnifica."

The products are packed in packing stations, which are ISO-9001 and HACCP certified. For export durability of the vegetables is important. For this we use Ozon-techniques in cooled transport. "As a result of which products are fresh when delivered" Said Bachaou says.

A great advantage for Tizjara is that they control the entire chain from grower to supply. "As a result we can adjust quickly and satisfy all requirements and wishes of the client. We also offer the possibility to grow fruit and vegetables on behalf of the client. In this way we are not only suppliers, but also are a cooperating partner" they conclude.
