UK: Fenmarc shortlisted for Re:fresh award
Fenmarc understands the entire fresh produce industry: along with their sister company, Agrimarc, they grow, prepare and pack produce for various retailers, including Asda and Waitrose. Fenmarc supply a wide range of prepared and root vegetables, along with many different varieties of potatoes including Rudolph, Belana and Elizabeth. The knowledge and skill of their team of over 400 people has resulted in sales in excess of £80 million, and has allowed Fenmarc to firmly establish itself as a fresh produce expert
Kate Milligan, Fenmarc’s commercial director says: "We’ve had a great year so far at Fenmarc; our Rudolph Potato campaign helped to increase this season’s sales by 57%, and we are now taking 50% of the electricity required for our March site from a new green energy AD Plant. We have also recently begun a project at the Swinderby operation which will reduce the carbon footprint of the site by 257 tonnes per year - equivalent to the carbon used by over 550 jumbo jet flights from London to New York. We’re extremely proud to be recognised by the industry for what we do best: growing, preparing and packing vegetables."
The Re:fresh awards are organised by the Fresh Produce Consortium and Fresh Produce Journal, who collectively cover the entire fresh produce industry, from seed breeder to supermarket. The ceremony will reveal the outstanding achievers of the fresh produce industry over the last 12 months. These will be judged by an executive committee from the Fresh Produce Consortium.
