Half Spanish veg exported left from Almeria

The export figures registered at the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX)
showed that the horticultural sector in Almeria exceeded volume and price in shipments abroad in the first two months of this year. According to the Provincial Delegation of Agriculture and Fisheries responsible for processing the data, "half of the vegetables exported by Spain in the first two months of the year left from the Almería province."

In total, horticultural enterprises in the province, exported in the analysed period 461,528 tons, nearly 7% more than in the same period of 2011. This volume represents 45% of all foreign vegetable sales that were carried out in the country. The second province, as a result of the weight of exported vegetables, "is Murcia, with 256,000 tons," according to the Delegation.
