US: Award for best produce display at Southeast Produce tradeshow

The Keynote Speaker Luncheon at this year’s Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure Tradeshow was the location for the Military Produce Group’s 2nd Annual East Coast Fruits & Vegetable Display Contest winner presentation.

Fort Bragg South Commissary Lead Store Associate Darlene Pugh received the Grand Prize from the Defense Commissary Agency for her "Buy Fresh, Buy Local" display. As winner of the contest, Darlene was flown to Tampa to attend the Southeast’s premier produce industry event.

With the contest criteria consisting of: overall creativity and theme, patron appeal and an east coast produce focused supply, Pugh was successful in creating a display that incorporated all of the components. The Southeast Produce Council sponsored the grand prize winner’s trip to the Southern Exposure Tradeshow in Tampa.
"Supporting our members and programs like this display contest is exactly what we stand for as an organization. To further expose companies and their team members to the overwhelming quality of produce and industry services the southeast has to offer. We were pleased to host Darlene at our Southern Exposure event and hope she found it informative and fun" stated Terry Vorhees, Executive Director of the Southeast Produce Council.
