Milestone Fresh ensures overseas fruit and vegetable transport

Shipping agent Milestone Fresh was founded by Milestone Logistics and Co van Es last year. The company ensures the logistics of fruit and vegetables, flowers, and plants from overseas. A year after the founding, various Dutch fruit and vegetable exporters use Milestone Fresh's services. "Our focus is the import from Central America, South Africa, and Asia, but we also take care of the outbound flow of products", says Peter van der Klift.

"Last year we started transporting plants from Costa Rica. Partially due to our agent there we ended up in the fruit and vegetable business. Now our loads consist of 60% melons and pineapples from Central America", says Peter. "Because of our background in the 'perishables' we know what the importer of fresh cargo needs. We also do lots of 'door-to-door deliveries'.

Milestone Fresh also does the clearance and PD-application and inspection. "Our company is AEO-certified, and we offer the possibility of external scanning is a container is invited by customs", says Peter. "We give an update of all the containers that are that are being transported with all the ETA's that go with it, every week. "We have a network of 112 agents worldwide and because we buy sea container transport in large amounts, we can offer good tariffs."
