International platform in Ukraine

The first edition of Fresh Produce Ukraine took place from 30 November – 2 December 2011. Some 85 exhibitors from 10 different countries took part and more than 4.000 trade visitors visited this new B2B platform for the entire fruit- and vegetable sector in Ukraine, Russia and other CIS countries.

The next edition of Fresh Produce Ukraine is scheduled for 28 – 30 November 2012 and will again take place in the International Exhibition Center in Kiev, Ukraine. Fresh Produce Ukraine is being organised by Fruit Inform from Ukraine and BTO Exhibitions B.V. from the Netherlands.

Fresh Produce Ukraine is unique as it is the only specialised international event focused on fruit & vegetable growing, post-harvest handling technologies and trade in Ukraine and other CIS countries. The exhibition is being organised in conjunction with the three day conference “Fruits & Vegetables of Ukraine”, this conference has been organised by Fruit Inform for the past 8 years and has built up a very solid reputation. One of the important topics of the conference is the trade forum in which more than 30 supermarket chains and importers participated during the last edition.

Fruit-Inform is the largest market information consultancy company in Ukraine and other CIS countries. Fruit-Inform is also the leading specialized publication and portal in CIS for the Fruit & Vegetable sector (www.lol.org.ua).

Fruit and vegetable business of Ukraine is the fastest growing sector of agriculture in the country, demonstrating the growth rate of 30% per year. In season 2010/11, the market is the first time exceeded 35 billion UAH. (4,5 billion U.S. dollars).

Ukraine has become one of the leading suppliers of apples and greenhouse tomatoes to Russia and it has strengthened its position in the market of fruit and vegetable preservation of the CIS, has become one of Europe's largest exporters of onions and watermelons. Recently Ukraine has begun more actively to explore the European market for other export opportunities of other types of vegetables and fruits.

Besides the huge production in Ukraine they are still a net importer of fruit- and vegetables due to the lack of storage capacity. Ukraine, with a market of more than 47 million people and growing prosperity, therefore also offers excellent opportunities to exporters of fruit- and vegetables

Fresh Produce Ukraine is aimed at producers of vegetables, fruits, berries, melons and potatoes, as well as companies that supply all the elements of technology, post harvest handling, storage and packaging of fruits and vegetables and exporters of fresh produce supply.
