Peru: Low temps an issue in mango and banana plantations

According to the Tumbes, Piura and Lambayeque departments, there is a likelihood of more rain and low temperatures than usual during the autumn season that started yesterday.

In that sense, this weather conditions might affect banana plantations in Tumbes and mango plantations in Piura and Lamabyeque, reducing the products quality for the coming harvesting season of 2012/2013.

The weather entity predicted that minimum temperatures are higher than usual and will go on until April at least, in the high areas of Piura and Lambayeque, while rain will last, at least, until mid April.
