Chips banned in Latvian school cafeterias
Latvia has been working towards healthier food for children and teenagers for a while. Since 2006 no drinks containing artificial colourings, sweeteners and caffeine, such as cola, lemonade or energy drinks are allowed at schools. The same goes for chocolate bars, bonbons and snacks with too much salt. As in many North-European countries and North-America, the number of children and teenagers suffering from obesity has increased clearly in the past years.
