UK: UNIVEG Supporting Fairtrade Fortnight

Supporting Fairtrade Fortnight, leading Fairtrade fruit (excluding Bananas) grower and importer, Univeg Katopé UK brought some winter cheer to the young patients of the ‘Amazon’ children’s ward at the Peterborough & Stamford NHS hospital in Peterborough.

The cheer came in the form of a sizeable donation of fresh Fairtrade fruit, which included oranges and soft citrus from Egypt, pineapples from Ghana and grapes from South Africa. Alongside the fruit, Fairtrade posters, leaflets and stickers helped create a colourful display.

The children had played their part too by creating their own Fairtrade Fortnight display on the wall of the ward’s playroom prior to the Univeg visit. Staff and parents were similarly interested to learn about the real life stories of how Univeg’s Fairtrade projects are having a positive effect on the local communities involved.
