New Ecopunnet packing: Freshpack Handling Systems
The Sorma Group, of which Freshpack Handling Systems, NL is part, have further developed their Easypunnet packing. The standard Easypunnet packing has been on the market for a number of years. This packing offers a good alternative for the traditional horizontal clipper packing in which various products are packed on a dish with a net. In countries such as Italy products like nectarines, peaches and kiwi are offered in this packing. In the Netherlands and Belgium mainly pears, kiwi and tomatoes are packed in a tub with net.
The Easypunnet and now also the Ecopunnet packings offer a big advantage compared to the traditional net packing. Packing is quicker with less stoppage of the packing machine. And the Easypunnet and Ecopunnet packing are both capable of recycling. No metal wire to close the packing is being used.
At the Fruit Logistica in Berlin the new Ecopunnet packing was introduced by the Sorma Group. A number of adjustments to the new Ecopunnet packing were made. The net now extends to the bottom of the packing. A ribbon has been added, which can be printed. The ribbon may also be used for carrying. A new kind of net has been used and as a result less material is used for packing.
The Sorma Group themselves expect a lot of this innovative packing. The Easypunnet and Ecopunnet packing machine (Sorma FLW-150) can be coupled to a weighing machine. For products such as peaches, nectarine, plums and kiwi often the W12 (12 trays) or the W14 (14 trays) the Sorma linear weighing machine is used. For products such as (Conference) pears the special pear weighing machine (Sorma M12) is used. The tubs are placed automatically on the line and the tub is filled automatically.
