"The problem is the far too large supply and there is nothing we can do about it anymore." According to the trader the quality of the apples and pears is good and there is not more waste this year than otherwise. There is also not much variation in price. It may differ a few cents up or down in the different periods, but there is no trend to increase."
Also the rest of the season he is not optimistic about. "I do not expect much change. In this market competition is severe. With some loyal customers the price may be slightly higher, but in general there are not super prices either. The topfruit market has become a small market. We are too close together."
