Peru: A drop in mango exports of 42%, according to APEM

On week six of the 2010/2011 campaign, Peru have exported 599 containers and the yearly cumulative was of 3665 containers.

However, in the present 2011/2012 campaign, during the same week, 316 containers were sent with a cumulative of 2133 containers, according to the Mango Producers and Exporters Association of Peru (Asociación de Productores y Exportadores de Mango del Perú - APEM). This represents a 42% drop.

According to the association, main exporters in the present campaign were FLP del Perú (10% participation), Sunshine Export (9%), Dominus (6%) and Camposol (5%). These four companies are APEM associates.

In week six, APEN associates represent 41% of Peruvian mango exports and the main destinations were the Netherlands (44% of the total), US (37%) and Canada (7%).
