Only two producers in the Northern Province region of South Africa are still packing
low volumes of Crimson Seedless in Week 8. The quality is said to be good.In the Olifants River region, Redglobe, Crimson Seedless and Autumn Royal are being packed. The quality is still very good with yields per hectare better than inthe previous season. It is expected that some producers around the Vredendal area will finish packing by the end of Week 8.

In the northern part of the Berg River region (Piketberg and Saron) packing is mostly of Crimson Seedless and Autumn Royal, and it is expected that someproducers in this area will finish packing towards the end of Week 9. In the southern part of the region, late mid-season cultivars are beingpacked, such as Redglobe, Sundance and La Rochelle. The quality is still excellent.

Meanwhile in the Hex River Valley region mid season cultivars are being packed, especially high volumes of Crimson Seedless, Autumn Royal, La Rochelle and Red Globe. The packingtempo is high as all these cultivars are ripening at the same time. The quality is very good.

Total exports up to week 6 are much higher that of last year at 34,470,180 compared to 28,768,460 last season. This year's figures are more on par with the 2009/10 season which were 36,279,736.
