NMB partners with Produce for Better Health Foundation
The NMB is excited to sponsor and contribute to PBH’s goal of a healthier society. Megan McKenna, Marketing Director of the NMB, said “The partnership with PBH is a natural fit because of our shared emphasis on nutrient-rich produce like mangos. The fruit’s nutritional value, healthfulness and versatility make it a great option for reaching the ‘Half Your Plate’ goal.”
Mangos are nutrient-rich, a good source of fiber, and contain more than 20 different vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A and C. One cup of mango has only 100 calories and can be prepared in several different ways as part of every meal, helping families reach the recommended daily servings of fruits for a nutritionally balanced diet.
As part of the sponsorship, PBH will showcase a mango recipe in a one-page information sheet that delivers the key messages of PBH: fill half your plate with fruits and vegetables, eating healthy is inexpensive, as well as delicious and quick to prepare. Photographs of the “plate” will be featured on PBH’s consumer website, in education materials such as cookbooks for health professionals and educators, and in several other consumer outreach efforts.
