Ukranian driver with Portuguese truck on unsuitable tyres

Germany: Truck cucumbers derails

In the German province of Saxony, a Ukrainian truck driver ended up in the grass verge. The truck only had normal tyres, which did not have enough grip on the slippery road. After overting other vehicles, he lost control of the truck. The truck was loaded with cauliflowers and cucumbers which spilled over the high way. It took 10 hours to clean up the mess. The driver suffered slight injuries, but the material damage, including a 200 meter crash barrier, was €200,000.
