American Airlines expand pre-cooling services for produce industry

Building on their existing freight services for shipping produce, American Airlines Cargo plans to expand their perishables shipping program this year.

AA Cargo currently offers a robust set of solutions for customers who need perishable shipping options, a fact evidenced by their participation at the upcoming 2012 Fruit Logistica Trade Fair in Berlin, Germany.

"American Airlines Cargo's presence confirms that our airline is committed to be a carrier of choice for our customers worldwide," says Carmen Taylor, Managing Director for Cargo Sales for the Southeastern United States and Latin America.

"Whether they are shipping perishables or hard freight, we want our customers to feel confident that we have a product available and specific to their needs."

In regards to the produce industry, Taylor says that American Airlines has services tailored to customers who ship fruit and vegetables.

"We offer a large variety of products and services to our Perishable Customers located anywhere in the world: from a large selection of flights to major cities in the world to 'Cold Chain' services in many of our cargo facilities."

She adds that AA Cargo plans to expand their pre-cooling services program "AA Cool Perishables" currently being offered at Miami to Dallas-Forth Worth in the second quarter of 2012.
