After a welcome from Lagnasco Mayor Ernesto Testa and Confcooperative Cuneo president Domenico Paschetta, Lagnasco Group president Giovanni Ghigo has traced the history of Lagnasco Group Soc. Coop. a r.l., a consortium of cooperatives set up on December 27th, 1996 from the existing Producers' Association "Ortofrutticoli Associati" (founded in 1989) and became then a producers' organization in the category of fruit and vegetables, on October 9th, 1997. As of today, it is recognized for the main fruit and vegetables, herbs and medicinal plants cultivated mainly in northern Italy.

Lagnasco Group is constituted by four cooperatives (Lagnasco Frutta, Blu di Valle, Agronatura, Il Frutto Permesso), defending the income of their 387 farmers through the concentration of supply, the reduction of production costs and the setting of producer prices, the promotion of production with appropriate marketing actions,
the technical assistance in order to produce environmentally friendly and the health of agricultural workers and consumers.

In recent years, Lagnasco Group has developed technologically advanced plants for processing and refrigeration of fresh and processed products, consolidating its presence in the major European chains and also reaching important markets in North Africa, Middle and Far East, North and South America, mainly with apples, kiwifruit and stone fruit.

A new logo: graphical summary of the corporate work
As pointed out by Lagnasco Group vice-president Davide Brero, the producers' organization has decided to review its logo because of the profound changes in its structures. In particular, Lagnasco Frutta cooperative recently incorporated another company, P.A.V. - Produttori Associati di Verzuolo e della Valpellice.

Another reason to renew the logo has purely commercial origins: the logo, in fact, represents the extreme synthesis of the company and must be able to communicate, at a glance, what the company does. It must also have easily recognizable features, and be compact and adaptable.
"This need of immediacy is essential to have a greater appeal on consumers and be more attractive to potential new clients, as well as to have a greater presence on the market with Lagnasco Group-branded products," Brero underlined.
Kept secret until the last moment, the new logo represents a stylized fruit, with a rounded shape, some seeds and a leaf: the essence of the work of Cooperative members.

The choice of these graphics transmits freshness and authenticity, has a friendly nature. The simplified line, almost childlike, and the strong and bright colours meet the need of recognition and connotation. Organic version of the logo has a brown texture, suggesting a greater naturalness.

Also for the new packaging Lagnasco Group introduces two versions: one for the conventional product, characterized by fresh colours, and one for organic product, incorporated with the colours of brown and green as in the logo.
New website
As pointed out by Davide Brero, the restyling of the website was necessary to provide a marketing tool, expressing the effective reality of Lagnasco Group. The website www.lagnascogroup.it is directed to both consumers and traders interested in the company products. There are several thematic sections and itis available online already.

Services for members are increased. In particular a web platform has been implemented: through an access with password it allows to manage documents, to evaluate samples of the product in real time, to inspect the technical advices prepared by the technical service and to interact with administration services.
International Debut
The new logo and the website restyling will be presented to the foreign press during Fruit Logistica (Hall 2.2 / Stand B-02), on February 9th, 2012 at 15:00.
