UK: Fresh Inspirations founder plans for conference follow up

The founder of a new industry initiative to advise and motivate the next generation of managers in the fresh produce and horticultural sectors says he expects the event to become a regular fixture on the industry calendar.

Adam Hill, who set up the Fresh Inspirations conference, taking place in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, on Thursday, January 26th, 2012, said: “I have been absolutely delighted with the positive response to the first ever Fresh Inspirations conference, both from our exceptionally experienced team of organisers, speakers and mentors, and from the delegates who have been signing up. How we attract and retain quality young people to careers in the fresh produce and horticultural sectors is a long-standing issue. This conference is all about highlighting the excitement of the business we work in, and motivating people to see the opportunities to develop themselves, and the industry as a whole, into the future.”

In addition hearing from a line-up of speakers from companies that includes Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Innocent Drinks and G’s Fresh, delegates at Fresh Inspirations will be given one-to-one mentoring by industry representatives at the conference. There will be further opportunities to meet and learn from these inspiring representatives at the evening's dinner.

Hill, a recent graduate of the MDS fresh produce graduate scheme, and a national account manager at Greencell, said: “We are very excited about welcoming delegates to Fresh Inspirations, and we’re already thinking about follow up, which will include continuing discussion on social networks – and preparations for the next conference next year.”
