Aldi Sud: No compensation or discounts when buying bananas

The NGO Oxfam recently criticized the German supermarket chain Aldi Süd about labour conditions and the purchase of bananas. Based on this the German Fruchthandel Magazin put some questions to Aldi Süd and the chain declared that the company have since 2009, added to their general company conditions the Code of Conduct of the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative).
 
"In addition we, in the meantime published information about the origin of the bananas on the packing. Clients can now see exactly where the bananas come from" according to the discounter.
