Spain. High prices for pepper and green beens

During the last seven days there were increases in quotations for lamuyo pepper and California pepper. Although, as for cucumber and courgette, the sales remain at prices under the average values reached in the same period of last year. Lamuyo pepper oscillates between 0.70 and 0.60 Euro cents while red pepper starts selling at 0.95 Euro cents to 0.75 cents per kilo. Green California pepper is sold between 0.90 and 0.75 cents, red California starts at 0.92 cents to 0.70 cents, while yellow California pepper gets 1.25 Euro to 0,80 Euro cents per kilo.

Italian green pepper continues from 0.75 cents to 0.50 cents per kilo, while Italian red varies between 0.45 cents and 0.30 Euro cents per kilo.

Vine tomato is sold between 0.72 and 0.50 Euro cents, tomato pinton has an average cut of 0.55 cents and large red tomato are between 0.60 and 0.45 Euro cents. Wide green beans starts at 2 Euro to 1.50 Euro, while "perona semi" starts at 1.50 Euro. Eggplant raised its value up to 0.90 Euro cents ending in auctions at 0.70 cents, while wide eggplant is stable between 0.70 and 0.50 Euro cents.

Products decreasing in prices are mainly in the cucumber group. French cucumber varies between 0.42 cents and 0.30 Euro cents. Short cucumber has a first starting price of 0.75cents and ends at 0.50Euro cents and the large cucumber keeps steady with low prices from 0.24 cents to 0.15 Euro cents per kilo. This is one of the products with lower profitability in the campaign, which since September just went above the 0.50 cents in the first cut at the auctions. Courgette is not seeing high prices either as it's being sold between 0.48 and 0.30 cents per kilo.

Regarding second class products, the highlight is on the green beans with average values of 1Euro per kilo, green Italian pepper with an average cut of 0.30 cents and the red pepper, lamuyo and california, with an average of 0.50 Euro cents.

For the coming weeks a slight recovery is expected in quotations and for prices to continue in some cases, since there are cultivations like cucumber that are ending and earlier transplants of melon will arrive at the end of January and begining of February to the greenhouses.
