China: Metro launches new Cash & Carry format

Metro has launched a new format through its Cash & Carry division in China, called ‘Metro Select’. The first such outlet has been opened in the city of Guangzhou, making it just the fifth Chinese city to now host at least three Metro outlets.

Reports said the new format is customer-centred, and offers flexible services to better meet customers’ needs. The store offers 8,200 SKUs over a sales area of 3,400 sq. m., of which 75% are food items (including Metro Cash & Carry’s six private labels).
