The Covent Garden Market Authority (CGMA) has appointed Robert McAuliffe as its new General Manager. He was welcomed into the position by CGMA Chair Wanda Goldwag OBE.
McAuliffe has more than two decades of experience in property operations, sustainability, and strategic management. Before joining CGMA, he served as Head of Interface Management at The Arch Company for five years, where he led operational programmes across a 5,200-property portfolio and chaired the Senior Leadership Team. His work included collaboration with Network Rail on estate governance, operational compliance, and asset management across railway infrastructure.

In his new role, McAuliffe will be responsible for overseeing the operation and management of New Covent Garden Market, which hosts more than 150 businesses supplying fresh flowers, plants, fruit, and vegetables to retail, catering, and hospitality clients across London and the South East.
Goldwag said that McAuliffe's background in property and sustainability would support the market's redevelopment and continued role in London's food distribution network.
McAuliffe stated that he looked forward to working with the CGMA team, tenants, and partners to ensure the market remains a safe and sustainable trading space.
