Eleven-pound cartons of bunched green asparagus are mostly US$34.75–36.75 for jumbo, US$31.75–32.75 for extra-large, US$28.75–29.75 for large, US$26.75–27.75 for standard, and US$28.00–30.00 for small sizes.
Avocado
Mexican avocado movement through Texas is expected to remain steady. Trading of 48–60s is moderate, and 70s are fairly active at slightly lower prices. Conventional Hass avocados are mostly US$28.25–30.25 for 32s, US$26.25–28.25 for 36–48s, US$21.25–23.25 for 60s, US$19.25–22.25 for 70s, and US$20.25–23.25 for 84s. Organic 48–60s are mostly US$36.25–38.25, and 70s are US$32.25–36.25.
Blueberry
Peruvian blueberry imports via Miami, Philadelphia, and New York ports are steady with moderate trading. Flats of 12 one-pint cups are mostly US$26.00–30.00; organic large are US$38.00–42.00. Mexican supply through Arizona, California, and Texas is increasing seasonally but remains too limited to establish a market. Chilean imports through Philadelphia are also beginning to rise.
Cucumber
Mexican cucumber crossings through Nogales, Arizona, are increasing. Prices for conventional large are lower, while long seedless are higher. Medium cartons are mostly US$14.95, large US$14.95, and long seedless greenhouse 12s are large US$4.95–6.95. Mexican shipments through Texas are slightly higher at US$18.95–20.95 for medium and US$19.95–22.95 for large.
Green bell pepper
Movement is decreasing seasonally with moderate trading and lower prices. Unofficial trade prices for irregular-sized fair quality peppers are mostly US$10.95–12.95. South Georgia remains steady at US$10.35–11.35 for extra-large sizes. Coachella Valley, California, is beginning its season with prices around US$15.95–16.95.
Strawberry
California's Oxnard and Santa Maria regions report very active trading and higher prices. Flats of 8 one-pound containers medium are mostly US$24.00–28.00; organic range US$26.00–34.00. Mexican shipments through Texas are increasing seasonally at US$26.00–28.00. The Salinas-Watsonville season is ending, while Florida's harvest will begin mid-November.
Tomato
Mexican tomato crossings through Texas are increasing slightly with moderate trading and slightly lower prices. Vine ripes 4x4–4x5s are mostly US$11.95–13.95, 5x5–5x6s are US$11.95–12.95. Nogales shipments are ramping up, while Otay Mesa movement is slightly down. Alabama's season has ended.
