Kyrgyzstan’s cabbage exports drop, citrus production on the rise

Between January and August 2025, Kyrgyzstan exported 3,174.9 tons of cabbage worth $605,900, a 3.2-fold decrease compared to the same period in 2024, when exports reached 10,214.7 tons valued at $1,235,400, according to the National Statistical Committee.

Cabbage exports by destination:

  • Russia: Significant decline to 2,637.8 tons ($514,600) in 2025, down from 9,642.1 tons ($1,125,400) in 2024.
  • Kazakhstan: Moderate decrease in supply. 364.5 tons ($67,800) in 2025, compared to 572.6 tons ($110,000) in 2024.
  • Uzbekistan: 86.7 tons ($10,800) in 2025; no exports recorded in 2024.
  • Tajikistan: 64.4 tons ($11,100) in 2025; no exports in 2024.
  • Poland: Small test batch of 21.5 tons ($1,600) in 2025; none in 2024.

Citrus production in Kyrgyzstan increased by 23%. The area of citrus orchards expanded from 801 hectares in 2024 to 1,058 hectares in 2025. Harvest volumes rose from 3,929 tons to 4,839 tons.
