The Kivits Logistics Group, with nearly 80 years of experience as a family-run business in logistics, value-added services, and transport for the fresh produce and chilled food sector, is expanding with a new 34,000 m² refrigerated logistics centre.
The Kivits Logistics Group subsidiaries, Kivits Goes Handling and Rotterdam Fruit Wharf, will operate from this new location and further strengthen their cooperation. The building will be constructed next to the premises of VGK Cool Logistics, also a subsidiary of the Kivits Logistics Group.
This site, located at Dutch Fresh Port with direct access to the A15/A16 interchange, enhances the efficiency of goods flow from around the world. Products are cleared, ripened, and/or packed here, and then distributed to, among others, European retailers.
WDP will become the owner of this BREEAM-certified, temperature-controlled logistics centre, which will feature 30 cold stores, 42 loading docks, and space for VAL activities such as ripening, packing, reconditioning, and repacking fruit. The building will also be equipped with solar panels. Delivery will take place in phases: phase 1 will be completed at the end of 2025, and phase 2 in May 2026.
