Fresh-cut fruit demand drives new launches

In the U.S. market, the nexus of consumer interest in convenience and health alongside retailers' demand for labor-efficient solutions sustains a robust need for fresh-cut fruits in produce aisles.

Fresh Del Monte observes a rising inclination towards ready-to-eat options and healthier food preferences, driving the focus on fresh-cut produce, according to Nuno Baptista Miranda, senior brand manager for Fresh Del Monte.

Previously, Fresh Del Monte introduced On-the-Go Oats, a breakfast line featuring fresh-cut fruits available in three varieties: Apples & Walnuts, Pineapple, Mango & Coconut, and Blueberries & Almonds. Each serving includes vanilla yogurt, oats, and fresh-cut fruits.

"Consumers love it because it offers a unique combination of fiber and protein from the oats and the vitamins from the fruit," said Baptista Miranda. "The consumption occasions are also varied from breakfast to snacking, with some consumers stating they have it as a meal as well."

Fresh Del Monte also notes strong demand for their Dessert Pudding Cups, which include fresh-cut fruit with pudding and toppings. Another recent product is Fresh Guacamole with fresh avocado and pico de gallo. Fresh Cut Pinkglow Pineapple remains a notable item within their offerings. Exclusive to Del Monte, Pinkglow has a distinctive pink interior.

Expect more additions to Fresh Del Monte's offerings later in the year, Baptista Miranda mentioned.
